Romeo & Julia Kören is a music dramatic vocal ensemble that works almost exclusively with European renaissance music. The choir was formed in 1991 by Benoît Malmberg at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, Sweden during a set of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet directed by Peter Langdal[1]. The choir participated as entertainment during several Nobel Prize celebrations in the Blue Hall [2]. The choir was also present during the wedding party of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel in 2010[3].

In 2000, Benoît Malmberg and Romeo & Julia Kören were awarded Ingmar Bergman's scholarship [4] and in 2012 H.M. The King's Medal of 8th grade in high blue ribbon[5]. Benoît Malmberg also received the annual award from the Renaissance Society for the Humanities in Sweden 2012 [6].

Romeo & Julia Kören tour frequently internationally and have appeared in a number of countries, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina[7], Chile[8], Greece [9], China[10], Kosovo, Croatia [11], Kurdistan [12], Poland [13]. The ensemble belongs to the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm but is not part of the regular ensemble[14]. Since its formation, the choir has participated in a large number of festivals, tours and other events.
