Career
In his early years, Ron was the owner of Auto City Electric, an electrical contractor and engineering firm. His strong interest in music also led him to produce for blues singer Sippie Wallace[1] and directed a series of concerts for boogie woogie and blues artists including Tito Jackson.[2]
In 1982, he founded Illuminating Concepts (IC) with a focus on lighting and multimedia design for architectural and urban environments. Over the years since, IC has become a resource for famous entertainment-based destinations and retail prototypes for brands such as Nike, Disney, Warner Bros., Universal, MGM, Calvin Klein, Museum of Natural History, Discovery Channel, NBC, Audi and Ferrari – to name a few.
Ron's innovative design approach has garnered over 40 patents in lighting, sound, and interactive product design. His IntelliStreets line of smart multimedia streetlights has been featured in Wired Magazine[3], with installation around the world.
