Ron Russell is an American movie/theater actor, host, producer, writer, director and Hollywood Golden Age Expert.

Actor[edit]

Ron Russell started his filming career at the very early age at 18, in the movies Let's Rock (1958) and in “That Kind Of Woman” with Sophia Loren [de] and Tab Hunter [de], filmed in 1959, directed by Sidney Lumet. His work career in the Movie and Entertainment Industry spans decades, in 2013 Ron Russell acted in the Movie "Croaker" by Director Fred Terling. In 2018 Ron Russell was seen in the film "Circus Road", directed by Minh Collins, writers: Minh Collins, Sadie Katz.

Producer and Director[edit]

Ron Russell founded and produced the tv show “Set The Record Straight” (TV series 2009 - 2010) for Time Warner Cable. Set The Record Straight became famous as a conversation show with the legends of Hollywood such as Jane Russell, Tab Hunter, Lauren Bacall, Kay Ballard, Tony Curtis, Tippi Hedren, Cliff Robertson, and Arlene Dahl, and many more.

TV HOST[edit]

In 2014, Russell started to co-host the "Jimmy Star Show with Ron Russell, which he shares with his husband Jimmy Star. The show premiered on ROKU television By 2016, The Jimmy Star Show with Ron Russell had become the #1 Internet TV/radio syndicated show in the world, with over 2.5 million TV/radio listeners weekly. By August 2017, the show had become the biggest web TV/radio show in the world, with 4.5 million viewers.

Ron Russell and the friendship with Hollywood Legend Jane Russell[edit]

Ron Russell became famously known on top of his career when he impersonated Hollywood Actress Jane Russell in Drag for many years. He and the Hollywood Legend became best friends. Ron Russell's friendship with Hollywood Legend Jane Russell lasted life long, until the Actresses death in February 2011.

Charity Work and Advocate for Gay Rights[edit]

Ron Russell founded “Have A Heart,” a troupe of drag queens who performed up and down the Eastern Seaboard raising money for amFAR and The Elizabeth Taylor Foundation for Aids Research, founded by Hollywood Actress Elizabeth Taylor. He was as well part of the movement for Gay Rights and Stonewall.

Private Life[edit]

Ron Russell is married to Dr Jimmy Star, the couple lives in Palm Springs, California, USA.
