Dr. Ronald S. Rochon is an American educator and university administrator. He became the fourth president of the University of Southern Indiana on July 1, 2018.[2]
Early life and education
Rochon was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.[3] He attended Willibrord Catholic High School on the south side of Chicago.[4][5] He graduated with a BS in animal science from Tuskegee University, and attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for graduate school. He earned an MS in animal science and a PhD in educational policy studies from the University of Illinois.[6]
Career
Rochon worked as a professor at Texas A&M University, Washington State University, and the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. He served as the inaugural dean of the School of Education at Buffalo State College.[7]
In 2010 Rochon began his tenure as provost at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana.[8] He became the fourth President of USI on July 1, 2018. He was inaugurated on April 5, 2019.[9]
Personal life
His wife, Lynn, serves as the first lady of the University of Southern Indiana. They have two children.[10] Rochon is a member of Omega Psi Phi.[11]
