Ronnie Gladden is an American professor, motivational speaker, trainer, coach and actor from Cincinnati.[1][2][3]
Education[edit]
Gladden started his undergraduate education at the University of Cincinnati where he received his Bachelors of Arts in English. Later he completed an M.Ed. in Secondary Education & Integrated Language Arts at Xavier University and an MFA in Creative Writing at Miami University.[4]
Gladden also earned an Ed.D. Educational Leadership (Literature & Diversity Leadership) at Northern Kentucky University. And he completed coursework in Medieval Literature during the International Summer School Studies at the University of Cambridge.[4]
Career[edit]
Throughout the course of his career, Gladden worked in the fields of acting, writing, music, dance, journalism, social work, as well as teaching.[1] Most of these fields became the main focus in his professional career. This led Gladden to become a motivational speaker, trainer and a coach.[4][2][5]
Gladden became an advocate of diversity as a professor and a teacher and was awarded the NCTE Early Career Educator of Color Leadership Award in 2008. And he earned an award from the International Leadership Association.[6]
As a consequence of his diversity leadership work, Gladden coined, researched, published, and presented transgracial theory in a number of different venues. The theory embodies the intersection of the transgender and transracial phenomena.[7]
He is also the host and producer of the show Ronnie and the Others in which he has interviewed several notable people on community issues.[2][7]
