Rotary machine gun is a multiple-barreled, Gatling-type rotary gun typically with a high rate of fire. Rotary machine guns are externally powered. Typical power supply methods include hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic. Rifle caliber rotary guns are sometimes collectively referred to as Miniguns, though this name is only correctly applied to the M134 Minigun. Cannon caliber rotary guns are usually called Rotary cannons.
