Rotem Alaluf (born September 15, 1990) is an Israeli-American serial entrepreneur specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), currently serving as the CEO of Wand since 2022. Before founding Wand, Alaluf led multiple AI-driven ventures and held roles in leading strategic, classified projects for the defense and intelligence sectors.
Early life and education
Rotem Alaluf was born on September 15, 1990, in Israel, into a Jewish family. In 2013, he studied physics and electrical engineering at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, specializing in Artificial Intelligence.
Career
In 2013, Rotem Alaluf commenced his involvement in a series of classified AI projects for the defense and intelligence communities, focusing on areas such as deep learning, time-series analysis, natural language processing, and speech processing.
In August 2018, Alaluf founded BeyondMinds, an AI startup dedicated to operationalizing AI models for large-scale business operations.[1] The company was nominated as one of the most promising startups in Israel in 2021.[2]. Alaluf led the company for three years, before departing in 2021 following differences with the board regarding the strategic direction of the company. A year after Alaluf's departure, in mid-2022, BeyondMinds ceased its operations. [3]
In February 2022, Alaluf founded Wand, a leader in generative AI[4], aimed at revolutionizing human-machine collaboration in enterprises and democratizing AI for global impact.[5]
