The Rothschild Memorial Archway is a stone archway designed by Ralph Adams Cram and Alexander Hoyle.[1] It is located on the campus of Princeton University, in Princeton, New Jersey.[2] The archway was a gift from Simon Frank Rothschild in memory of his wife and his son[3]. An inscription at the top of the arch reads, “MATRI FILIOQUE IN AMORE DEDICATUS.”[4] It is the last design created by Cram for Princeton and was the center of an exchange between Princeton's president at the time, John G. Hibben, Ralph Adams Cram, and Charles Klauder.[5]
