Round Hill Music is an American music publishing company founded in 2010 by Josh Gruss[1] along with Richard Rowe, and Neil Gillis[2]. It includes a music publishing division with sync and royalty administration capabilities, a music production library business, a record label and label services division, a Nashville songwriter services group, and offices in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and London.[3]
Round Hill's catalog includes songs such as "Happy Together (song)", "All of Me", "She Loves You", "Video Killed the Radio Star", “Calendar_Girl_(song)”, “Living_in_America_(James_Brown_song)”, “Cool Kids”, “Best Day of My Life”, “Fever”, “I Saw Her Standing There”, “Stop! Round Hill Records[edit]
In 2014, Round Hill Records was established with the catalog acquisition of the UK rock band Bush_(British_band).[5] The next major catalog acquisition in 2016 was for the Sony catalog of the Southern California rock band The Offspring,[6] consisting of many of their recordings including "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" and "Gone Away (song)". Today Round Hill Records is releasing records from artists such as Royal Teeth and The London Souls, as well as providing label services to many other artists.
Round Hill Nashville[edit]
RHM Nashville provides a publishing experience to many of Nashville's songwriters. Round Hill Music Nashville's roster includes Dallas Davidson, Ashley Gorley, Jimmy Robbins, Wade Kirby, and Danny Myrick. The company owns the catalogs of Big Loud Shirt,[6] Bob DiPiero, Josh Kear, Marti Frederiksen, Big Tractor Music, and Root 49, among others. Songs from these catalogs include “Amazed”, “Gone”, “I Saw God Today”, “Undo It”, “Need_You_Now_(Lady_Antebellum_song)”, “Before He Cheats”, “Cruise_(song)”, “Drunk on a Plane”, “Live Like You Were Dying”, and “She's Country” among many others. In addition to its own roster of writers, Round Hill has a joint venture with Big Loud's publishing company and the two share a roster that includes Sarah Buxton, Rodney Clawson, Matt Dragstrem, Joey Moi, Jamie Moore, Chris Tompkins, and Hall of Fame songwriter Craig Wiseman.

Round Hill owns Carlin Music [7], which comprises Carlin America, Carlin U.K. and Edward B. Marks Music and has a catalog of more than 100,000 songs including ”Are_You_Lonesome_Tonight?_(song)”, “Fever”, “Happy_Together_(song)”, “I Got You (I Feel Good)”, “The Twist”, “La_Bamba_(song)”, “Chantilly_Lace_(song)”, “Under the Boardwalk”, “What A Wonderful World”, “Splish_Splash_(song)”, “Lollipop_(1958_song)”, “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, “Paradise By the Dashboard Light”, “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, “Hard to Handle (song)”, “Video Killed The Radio Star”, “She Blinded Me With Science”, “Somebody That I Used To Know” among many others. Carlin also owns rights to Christmas songs such as “Santa Baby”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”, as well as Broadway and classical music such as the scores to Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret_(musical), Company_(musical), Follies, Godspell and the compositions of classical composers William Bolcom and Norman Dello Joio.
Sync[edit]
ZYNC is Round Hill Music’s sync team that specializes in placement for film, advertising, TV, trailers, sports & games. All together they have secured over 15,000 licenses.[8]
Royalty Collection and Administration[edit]
Round Hill Records has offices in Los Angeles, Nashville, New York City and London as well as direct partnerships with SOCAN, PRS for Music and Stim amongst others.
Production Music Library[edit]
Bosshouse Music, Round Hill's production music library, was founded in 2002 by composer/songwriter Stephen Phillips. Since its inception, the Bosshouse and Transphonic Records catalogs have secured placements in episodic television, film, advertising, and trailers. Bosshouse music has scored shows including, Odd Mom Out and Good Luck Charlie.
Sienna Studios[edit]
Round Hill's Sienna Studios has 3 facilities. Its largest tracking room, Studio A, features a Neve 8068 console and a plethora of outboard gear. The studio has a live room, lounge, and multiple isolation booths, suited for large tracking sessions with full bands. Studio C features a Pro Tools rig with a curated selection of outboard gear. It contains an isolation booth that can house any instrument. Studio D is a production room with a small isolation booth suited to tracking vocals and overdubs. It is leased to producers on a long term basis. Originally opened as Quadrafonic Studios in 1970, ‘Quad’ was one of the first multi-room studios in Nashville. Neil Young’s Harvest (Neil Young album) album and Jimmy Buffett’s "Margaritaville" among others were recorded there. In 2014, Round Hill Music CEO, Josh Gruss, and songwriter, Marti Frederiksen, partnered together and bought and restored the recording studio.
Copyright Lawsuit[edit]
In 2014 Round Hill Music and Bertelsmann_Music_Group sued Cox_Communications for the copyright infringements of its subscribers.[9][10] In December of 2015 the case was decided in BMG and Round Hill Music's favor.[11][12]
