Roy Meriwether

Roy Meriwether (24 February 1943 – 2 December 2021)[1] was an American Jazz pianist.
Early life
Meriwether was born in Dayton, Ohio. He started playing piano when he was three years old and he played in his father’s church with the family choir.[2]
Career
At the age of 18, he started playing with his own group: The Roy Meriwether Trio, with Lester Bass on the bass and Mike Ward on the drums.[3] He was influenced by gospel and blues.
