Rubyball Rules[edit]

Rubyball is a team sport mostly played in parts of the UK. It is played in teams of six and requires a Rugby-like ball known as a rubyball. The winner of a match is the team that is ahead by the most points by the end of the game.Points are scored when the ball makes it's way into the goal, the least amount of points that can be scored is one and the most is three, you are also able to score two points. To score two points you must get the ball into the goal from in front of the three point line and to score three points you need to get the ball into the goal from behind the three point line. Any part of the body can be used to score and carry the ball. Every player other than the goaltender cannot be inside of the goal box for anymore than 10 seconds, if they remain in the box for anymore than that time then the ball will go to the other team.Every position can score, including the goaltender. Tackling is allowed, the only exception is that you can not shove the other player's back or head, if this does happen then it will result in a foul and the player who committed the foal shall recieve a warning and the other team will recieve one free shot on the opposing team's goal. The pitch is the same size as a Rugby union pitch but may be smaller. The goals used are slightly larger than Football goal's but sizes may vary depending on the ages of the players or the country in which it's being played.

Positions[edit]

There are five positions in rubyball: Goaltender: Stays inside goal box, makes sure the ball doesn't enter the goal. Protector: Usually stays just outside the goal box line, acts as a defender. It's the only position that has more than one person playing it during the game, there is two protectors playing. Linestarter: Starts at the line, their role is to get the ball at the start of play off. Kicker: Runs the offence and their main role is to score and tackle the ball. Lobber: Is an offensive player but their main role is to retrieve the ball if the other team gets it out of bounds.
