Rulers of the Planet were an Irish punk-rock band based in Cork circa 2005-2007. They were signed to Sofa Records (Ireland),[citation needed] and to German label ZYX.[1]
Their debut album "In 30 Minutes We Destroy the Earth" was received positively by critics (‘Album of the Week’ – Irish Independent, 9/10 – Hot Press).[citation needed] It led to a publishing deal with Jewel DC, a publishing company owned by Berlin-based Irish singer-songwriter, Rea Garvey.[citation needed] A second album, "Disco Boogie for Death Rockers," was released in 2007.[citation needed]
Two founder members of the group, Mick Hayes and Niall Lynch, were previously part of 1990s punk-rock band The Shanks (alongside Eoin "Stan" O'Sullivan, who later formed Stanley Super 800).[citation needed]
