Rumli is a village in Dina Tehsil, Jhelum District, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies within the Pothohar Plateau region of northern Punjab.

Administration

Rumli falls under Dina Tehsil, one of the four tehsils of Jhelum District, alongside Jhelum, Sohawa, and Pind Dadan Khan tehsils. Dina Tehsil is administratively divided into eleven Union Councils, including Badlot, Dhanyala, Dina 1, Dina 2, Garh Mahal, Ladhar, Janjeel, Khukha, Madukalas, Mughlabad, and Sohan.

Demographics

Like many villages in Dina Tehsil, Rumli's population historically includes members of the Jat community, among other tribal and clan groups found throughout the tehsil, which also include Gujjar, Malyar (Arain), Rajput (including Gakhars), Syed, Qureshi, and Awan communities.

Geography

Rumli is situated in Jhelum District, within the Pothohar Plateau, a region of undulating terrain in northern Punjab bounded by the Jhelum River to the east and the Indus River to the west. The nearest major town is Dina, a tehsil headquarters located along the historic Grand Trunk Road, roughly 10 miles northwest of Jhelum city.
