Ruralscope
Ruralscope is a French-made 16mm 2X Anamorphic Projection lens. It was designed and manufactured by Totalvision in the 1960s–1970s.
It was specifically designed for rural French movie theaters as an inexpensive lens to project movies in wide-screen anamorphic format[1]
Since the 2010s, remaining lenses in circulation are sought after by DIY anamorphic aficionados. Ruralscope is used as a 2x Anamorphic attachment[2][3] suitable for filming/video recording on modern DSLR and mirrorless cameras. Due to the rarity of this type of scope, only a few conversion kits exist on the market.[4]
