Ruthi Helbitz Cohen
Ruthi Helbitz Cohen is a contemporary Israeli artist. Alongside the artistic work in her studio, she teaches art in both the Beit Berl Arts College and the Oranim College,[1] Program of Multidisciplinary Studies in Humanities and the Arts (M.Ed.).
Her works invite the spectator to enter the shadow of the soul. Archaic figures remind the observer of a sunken culture, to put an end to the pillage of the world. Her works are realized through sheets of tracing paper, fabric softener, paint, ink and other substances, creating a "mixed media".[2] They touch on youth and innocence and its loss as well as on sexuality and motherhood, and the anxiety it causes. Ruthi Helbitz Cohen works were presented in exhibitions in Israel,[3][4][5][6] Germany,[7][8][2] Netherlands, France, Denmark, Greece, China, and the USA.
