Introduction[edit]
Ruwan Fernando (Sinhala : රුවන් ප්රනාන්දු; born 20 May 1983) is a Sri Lankan singer. He also a Banker by profession.
He started his music carrier by singing in the group song Heen Seeruwe written by Mr. Shehan Galahitiyawa & Music produced by Mr. Romesh Sugathapala in 2007.
Personal life[edit]
Ruwan was born on 20 May 1983 in Negombo, Sri Lanka. He is the son of a former Gemologist of Gem & Jewelry Authority Mr Tyrrel Fernando and his wife (Late)Mrs. Jasintha Livera.
Ruwan has one brother younger to him Maithree Fernando who is currently working at a leading bank in Sri Lanka.
He completed his primary education at Maris Stella College - Negombo and higher education in University of Kelaniya in the area of Physics. Ruwan also holds a Professional Masters Degree in Banking & Finance from Asian Institute of Technology - Thailand.
Career[edit]
Ruwan's interest to music started from the Church when he joined the Choir of St. Sebastian's Church - Katunayake. He sang there for almost 10 years. In 2006 he met Mr. Romesh Sugathapala and fortunate enough to sing a part of the Group Song, Heen Seeruwe in the same year he released his first single Maduwanthiye Music by Mr. Romesh Sugathapala & Written by Mr. Nandana Wickramage.
In 2007 Ruwan released his first ever music video Palamu Prema Prarthana Music by Mr. Priyan Indika, Written by Mr. Tharinda Athapattu & Composed by Mr. Kasun Primaal
