Ryan Roenfeld (August 26, 1972, Council Bluffs, Iowa) is a noted historian and writer in the Omaha–Council Bluffs metropolitan area.[1] He is a professional author, lecturer, and historian of the development of the mid-Missouri River Valley region and southwest Iowa, as well as 19th century gamblers and confidence men.[citation needed]

Biography[edit]

Roenfeld is a fifth-generation resident of Mills County, Iowa, who grew up in the town of Glenwood. He is the former president of the Historical Society of Pottawattamie County,[2] and teaches continuing education classes for the Metropolitan Community College in Nebraska.[3] He has written more than 15 books related to the history of Iowa and Nebraska, and regularly speaks about the history of the region to the public.[citation needed]
