S.M. Mobin Sikder (Bengali: এস.এম. মবিন সিকদার) is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, social media influencer and content creator.[1] He is most notable for founding Bangladesh's one of the largest science based education platform Science Bee.[2]
Early life and education
Mobin Sikder was born on 13 July 1998 in Manikganj district's Shingair Upazila. He spent his childhood in his village home and continued his study in his village's school till class 8. After that he moved to Savar and finished his SSC there. He completed his College life from Dhaka Residential Model College and currently he is a fourth year graduation student in Chemistry at Jahangirnagar University.
Career
Mobin Sikder founded Science Bee on 31 May 2018. [3]Currently Science Bee is Bangladesh's one of the largest science based education platform. The idea of Science Bee came when he was a school student. As he was studying in a village he noticed that his school doesn't have proper instruments or well-trained teacher. Later when he moved to Dhaka he found out there is a huge discrimination between village and city students. Where in the city area there are many advanced teaching methods and educational instruments, in villages there is the opposite. So to solve this he founded Science Bee.[4]
Now more than 30 students are working with him to popularize Science Education in Bangladesh.[5]
Awards
For Mobin Sikder's contribution in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) he received 'Young Global Changemakers Award 2021' in 'Grand global jury commendation' category.[6] More than 500 people from 47 countries applied for this prestigious international award and only 3 were awarded in this highest category.[7] He was the only one from Bangladesh to achieve the highest Award.[8] Moreover his organisation Science Bee has received 'Bylc Volunteer Awards 2021'[9] where 75 organisations from all over Bangladesh applied[10] and Science Bee stood first for their voluntary works.[11] Science Bee has also received an international award called ‘YSSE Global Education Award’ for our contribution in the e-learning sector.[12]
