SENS-01 is an experimental drug which is under development for the treatment of social anxiety disorder, other anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Its route of administration is unspecified.[1]

The drug is described by its developer as a novel, selective, and fast-acting anxiolytic without sedation.[4][7][8] Its exact mechanism of action has not yet been disclosed.[1][2] SENS-01 is said to be a synthetic analogue of a naturally occurring anxiolytic that has been validated in humans.[7] Its developer is described as a psychedelic pharmaceutical company[9] and the drug is listed on Psychedelic Alpha's psychedelic drug development tracker, which appear to indicate that it is a psychedelic-related compound.[10]

SENS-01 is being developed by Sensorium Therapeutics.[1][2][6] As of October 2024, it is in the preclinical research stage of development.[1][10] The compound's chemical structure does not yet appear to have been disclosed.[1]

The SENS-01 program features a novel molecule, a synthetic derivative of a natural compound validated in humans as a fast-acting anxiolytic. This molecule has shown excellent CNS drug-like properties, a clean safety profile, and in vivo efficacy in multiple models. The program is nearing the completion of IND-enabling studies with plans for clinical entry in early 2025. [...] During the Neuroscience 2024 conference, Sensorium presented several poster sessions. One focused on the development of SENS-01, revealing that the anxiolytic candidate is a small molecule synthetic derivative of a natural compound, validated as a fast-onset anxiolytic. Both in vitro and in vivo data confirmed its rapid onset effects, and IND-enabling safety studies indicated a clean safety profile.
