The 17th State Senior High School Of Bekasi (Indonesian: SMA Negeri 17 Kota Bekasi, also known as One Seven) is a Public School in Bekasi City, West Java, Indonesia. It is one of the youngest high school in Bekasi and one of designated Excellent Schools in Bekasi. The school is colloquially referred to as Tujuh Belas (English: Seventeen) by Bekasians.
17th State High School of Bekasi was pioneered in the Jakasampurna State Elementary School Bekasi (Indonesian: SDN Jakasampurna Bekasi) in 2008 on behalf 3rd State High School of Bekasi (Indonesian: SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi). The same as any high school in Indonesia, the education period in 17th State High School of Bekasi is completed on 3 years, starting from 10th Grade to 12th Grade. As of 2016, 17th State High School Of Bekasi has 4 natural science classes and 4 social study classes for the 12th graders, 4 natural science classes and 4 social study classes for the 11th graders and 4 natural science classes and 4 social study classes for the 10th graders.
History[edit]
17th State High School of Bekasi began pioneering since 2008 in Jakasampurna Elementary School of Bekasi. At that time 17th State High School Of Bekasi was led by Neni Nuraeni who also serves as the principal of the 3rd State School of Bekasi (Indonesian: SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi).
In 2009, 17th State High School of Bekasi moved to 3rd State High School of Bekasi (Indonesian: SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi). and became Subsidiary of 3rd State High School of Bekasi (Indonesian: Filial SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi) which became USB (Unit Sekolah Baru (English: New School Unit)) of 17th State High School of Bekasi, under acting principal Ida Nurhaida, S.Pd administration and on December 31, 2010 released the States Decree from Educational Services of City of Bekasi No.421 / Kep.695-Disdik / XII / 2010 which established 17th State High School of Bekasi
In January 2012, 17th State High School of Bekasi moved to the new building at H. Ilyas Cikunir Street RT.02 RW.012 Jakamulya, South Bekasi.
The initial building originated from the collaboration of PT. Metropolitan Land Bekasi Tbk. And Bekasi City Government consists of eight classrooms. At that time 17th State High School of Bekasi had a six class students namely: 10th Grades: four classes, 11th Grades: three classes, 12th Grades: three classes, during two shifts, for 11th Gradrs and 12th Grades schedule in the morning, and 10th Grades in the afternoon. Due to the increase development of 17th State High School of Bekasi, in 2013 there were 610 students and now have 860 students, seehave 21 classes consisting of: 10th Grades with 8 classes, 11th Grades with 8 classes and 12th Grades has 5 classes.
At 2016, 17th State High School has been moved from jurisdiction of City of Bekasi Government Educational Services to West Java Provincial Government Educational Services. Meanwhile, at the same time 17th State Highschool has been accredited A and is one of the best schools in Bekasi City with academic and non-academic achievements that increase from year after year, as well as developing adequate facilities and infrastructure to improve the quality of education in nicknamed The School of Monument Seal

Extracurricular activities[edit]
17th State High School of Bekasi had extracurricular feasibility supervisory organization called IKORES(Ikatan Organisasi dan Ekstrakulikuler) or the Organization and Extracurricular Association. This is an organization plan by OSIS as a form of attention to extracurricular activities at 17th State High School of Bekasi, this organization also proposed several new extracurricular activities, proposed extracurricular event and a hearing and discussion places for extracurricular activities member to achieve extracurricular activities standard .

Student's union[edit]
The student government of 17th State High School is represented by the 17th State High School Student's Union Indonesian: Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah,[2] a student government. Same as in United States it comprises a group of students (elected each year for each grade) who serve the student body in two important areas: improving student life by promoting and managing extracurricular activities (clubs and publications), and by organizing out-of-school activity such as city excursions or fundraisers or music show and art gallery (Indonesian: pentas seni/pensi) or Sports intern competition called classmeeting; and providing a voice to the student body in all discussion of school policy with the administration. which is called Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah (Student Organization Inside School), and abbreviated to OSIS, is the official student organization formed by the government.

This student organization is part of Political Education in Indonesia's Education system, teaching student to believe every power is limitless and teach about Separation of Power. How to be member legislative's in 17th State High School of Bekasi is open to every student in school, the nominee will through two phase, first, selection from Supervisor council who filled by 12th Grade member and second, open election in each class.
Student's Representatives Assembly is a School Legislative's institution that accommodates student aspirations to be discussed with the Student's Union, and also oversees the performance of the Student's Union. Assembly is responsible for MPO (English: Governing Board). Student's Representatives Assembly structure is located under the MPO and is equal to the Student's Union.
