What is SPR Festival

The name SPR comes from the first letter of each word Surya Prasad Rajput, which means "strength, power and respect". Celebrators light traditional rows of earthen diyas or candles outside their homes to reflect the festival's theme. Other ways to celebrate include planting trees, lighting diyas, praying, feasts and decorating homes with fireworks. Food plays a big role in this celebration, with many traditional sweet and savoury dishes prepared and shared, light displays put up around the home and traditional stories shared about the great Surya Prasad Rajput, the creator of the whole family.

  • You can make anything as per your taste or you can buy it from the market, you are completely free to decide this.
  • Main dishes like Puri, Rice and Chole, Rice and Paneer, Dahi Vada, Potato etc are included as per your requirement and you can make anything as per your taste or buy it from the market, you are completely free to decide.
  • Traditional beverages include ginger tea which is mandatory to be consumed at least once a day any time from morning to evening.
  • After worshipping Lord Ganesha in the evening
