SURL (Korean: 설) is a South Korean indie band under the label Happy Robot Records (subsidiary of MPMG MUSIC).

The group debuted on September, 2018, with the song titled "Stay Here" as a part of the Mint Paper compilation album bright #7. Band's name was originally derived from a Chinese character ‘說’ which means ‘saying’. The band consists of four members: Seol Hoseung(guitar/vocal), Kim Doyeon(guitar), Lee Hanbin(bass), and Oh Myeongsuk(drum).

In December 2018, the band released their first EP Aren't You? which put the on the map as “super rookies” of the Korean indie scene. SURL raised their profile after winning the Grand Prize at the ‘2018 Shinhan Card Rookie Project’ and Excellence Award at the ‘EBS Hello Rookie with KOCCA'. Soon after, in 2019, SURL released their first single [Cilla], and second EP [I Know], and began to appear in various media outlets. Within a year after their debut, SURL were quickly catapulted into the global music scene performing at music festivals in Germany, Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand. The same year, SURL held their first solo concert ‘Yes, You Are’ which was completely sold out within one minute. 2020.02.05

In February 2020, SURL was featured in rapper Hash Swan's full-legth album [Silence of the REM]. Later on, SURL released their third single Ferris Wheel and fourth single Don't Say No notable for featuring Korean hip-hop musician Jay Park. They also participated as the main artist for SK Telecom's campaign ‘Cheering Song for You’.
