Saba Karim (born 1986), is an Australian entrepreneur, public speaker, and venture capitalist. He is best known for being the head of startup pipeline at Techstars[1][2][3], the largest pre-seed investor in the world, and co-founder/partner of Rising Stars (backed by Amazon, and X (formerly Twitter)).[4][5][6]

He is the founder and CEO of Favs[7], a social network focused on connecting close friends[8] that's set to be launched in 2024.[9]

Early life and education

Saba was born in 1986 to Pakistani parents, in Karachi. When he was six months old, they moved to Melbourne, Australia, where Saba graduated from Noble Park Secondary College. His first job was delivering newspapers, and he subsequently ventured into graphic design.

Saba attended Deakin University from 2004 to 2007, earning a bachelor's degree in commerce. From 2009 to 2010, he completed his master's degree in communication. In 2014, Saba pursued post-graduate certification at Stanford University.[10]

Career

Saba's position in prior companies has also been on the growth side, serving as a head of customer acquisition for Lorem (now Storetasker[12](backed by Flybridge[13][14])), CMO for Evolve[15] (backed by Spark Capital, acquired by HubSpot: NYSE: HUBS), and advisor for SparkCharge, GlossGenius, Novo Bank, and others.[16][17] Saba was also in the founding team of Orai, an AI-powered public-speaking app.[18]
