Sabirin Dhowre Elba[1] Somali: Saabiriin Dhowre) is a Canadian American Model and Actress and prominance winner of Miss Vancouver beauty pageant in 2014, and she also married british actor Idris Elba 2019.[2][3][4][5]
Early life and education[edit]
Sabirina was a internet personality and model, she born on 16 July 1989 in New York City and raised in Montreal, Canada. Sabrina's family has origin from a sub-clan of Darod, Majeirtein, in a Somalia country which locates East Africa. Her mother, Mariam Egal, was born in Somalia but now lives in British Columbia. After graduating from high school, She attended Howard University, where she earned a Bachelor Degree of English in 2001..[6]

Sabrina Dhowre Elba crowned Miss Vancouver in 2014 and represented Miss Canada the same year as British Columbia.
Sabrina grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, and attended the John Casablancas Institute, where she studied fashion and design. She worked as a model, was crowned Miss Vancouver in 2014, and participated in the Miss Canada contest the same year.[7]
In addition to her work as a model and beauty pageant contestant, Sabirin Dhowre Elba has appeared in films and television shows. She made her acting debut in the 2013 film American Milkshake, and subsequently appeared in films such as The Mountain Between Us (2017), All-Star Weekend (2022), and the TV series Turn Up Charlie (2019).[8]
Sabirina gained media attention when she married actor Idris Elba in April 2019. The couple met in 2017 while filming The Mountain Between Us in Canada, where Sabrina Dawer Elba was working as a model. The couple got engaged in 2018 and married in a three-day wedding ceremony in Morocco.[9]
Sabrina has also been involved in philanthropy, supporting the ''We Can Lead'' charity, which helps girls in Africa by providing education and leadership training.[10]
She also works with a variety of civil society organizations, including Conservation International, where she sits on the Board of Directors, on environmental issues and participates as co-chair of the European World Citizens Council. Sabrina is passionate about gender equality and promoting the empowerment of women and girls worldwide. She was appointed United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Fund for Agricultural Development in April 2020. She will dedicate her efforts as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Fund to addressing the challenges facing rural women and girls..[11]
