Sahara

The Sahara is the largest hot desert in the world. Located in North Africa, it covers about a third of the continent and around 10 different countries have territory in the desert.
The Sahara is sparsely populated but some cities have grew in the desert, in total its population is around 2.5 million.
Many groups live in the Sahara including the Berbers, Hausa, Nubians and Zaghawa. Arabic is the most widely spoken language in the Sahara.
The name of the Sahara comes from an Arabic word "صَحَارَى" meaning desert.
