Sai Sagireddy
Sai S. R. Sagireddy is a sophomore pre-medical/research student at Baylor University. He is a science research fellow with specializations in Biology, Medical Humanities, and Philanthropy & Social Innovation. He is a leader in healthcare amongst the Waco Community and is heavily involved in research. His projects include the Waco Low-Income Healthcare Resources Guide[1], and forming partnerships with ProsperWaco to add to the WacoRoundtable platform[2]. He is a 2021 Shepherd Scholar with the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty[3]. From 2016 to 2020, he served as president of the International Obesity Network, a non-profit with over thirty chapters globally[4]. Sagireddy is also heavily involved in research. He worked with Dr. Tamarah Adair of Baylor in Microbiology to discover a new bacteriophage, Casserole, and created a new research protocol, the Multi-Well Protocol, to test twenty-four soil samples for phage at once[5]. He is a published author of many books[6], and articles. He served as Editor for Baylor Scientia[7] and is a member of the Baylor COVID-19 Resources Taskforce.
