Saints of County Wicklow

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

There were at least 27 saints associated with County Wicklow. Most of them were from the medieval period and were canonised by a local bishop following their deaths, prior to the modern process of canonisation (which is reserved for the pope).[1] Many of these saints were little known outside their immediate communities and localities and their cults became lost or forgotten through time.[2] Others like St. Kevin of Glendalough and St. Laurence O'Toole became more famous and were officially canonised by the pope[3] enjoying international veneration with a thriving cult among modern Christians.
