Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms, located in Sparta, Greece, is a Greek family owned business that for the past 26 years is produces and packages olive and olive oil products.[1][2]

Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms are based near Sparta. That area is well known for the production of olives and has some olive trees that are thousands of years old. Thus, olive oil productions is part of the local heritage.[3]

Extra virgin olive oil and olives of Kalamata variety are the main products of the company. Besides those, the company has created unsalted olives, green olives as well as very cold extracted olive oils, soaps and wax creams..[1]
Clinical Studies[5][6][edit]
The company has some important cooperations with universities worldwide.[7] This helps the company produces health beneficiary products.[5][8]
Clinical studies for the improvement of human health have shown that the daily consumption of 5 table olives (Kalamata variety) of the farms lead to the reduction of cholesterol, at the vast majority of the volunteers that participated (about 95 %) and the improvement of the blood lipid profile.[9]
The organic olive oils of the farms are used for the 3 year study "Intervention Studies on the Mediterranean Diet" that is carried out by Harvard University's School of Public Health, regarding the daily diet of 1000 volunteer firefighters in 44 Fire Departments across the USA.[5]
The aim of this study is to prove that by changing the diet, with scientifically proven ways, in groups of people that have higher risk of heart disorder due to their line of work, such as firefighters, this risk is significantly reduced. [5]
