The Saker Music Company (shortened as Saker Music) is a Hungarian music publishing company founded on 23 January 2016 in Szeged by trombonist Áron Simon. The company started its actual operations on 1 September 2018, distributing both printed and digital sheet music.
The publisher primarily focuses on brass chamber music, with special emphasis on arrangements, transcriptions, and orchestrations. In the early years the catalog centered around the works of its founder Áron Simon, later expanding through contracts with several international composers and arrangers. Among the contributors are Steven Franklin, Igor Martínez, François Bogaert, Dave Deason, and Csaba Wágner.
History
Áron Simon established the Saker Music Company with the aim of providing high-quality brass chamber music and innovative orchestrations to the musical community. Initially the focus was on Simon’s own arrangements and transcriptions, which quickly gained recognition among brass musicians. The company’s commercial activity began in 2018 with both online and printed sheet music distribution.
In 2022 the company renewed its brand identity and strategy, placing greater emphasis on international partnerships and meeting modern musical demands.
Activities
The main profile of the publisher is brass chamber music, though it has also released works for other wind ensembles and symphony orchestra. In addition, it publishes etude collections for different instruments (such as trumpet and guitar) supporting skill development.[1] The catalog includes classical transcriptions, film score arrangements, works by contemporary composers, and other innovative orchestrations. The company’s sheet music is used worldwide by professional ensembles, music universities, and amateur chamber groups. Orders have been received from more than 35 countries, with the main customer base in the United States, Germany, and Japan.
