Salifu Jatta (December 11, 1995) is a Gambian soccer player who is plays for the Oakland Roots SC in the National Independent Soccer Association.

Youth, amateur, and college career[edit]

Jatta attended South San Francisco High School from 2010-2013. In 2013, Jatta led his team in goals scoring 11 goals in 19 games. [1]. Jatta finished his senior season with a First Team All-League Award.

Jatta started his college career at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, California. In 2015, he led his team to the State finals leading the line 16 goals and 5 assists. [2]. Jatta was named in the NSCAA Junior College All-West regional team and NSCAA Junior College First Team All-America in 2015.

Jatta then transferred to Fort Lewis College in 2016. In his first season, he scored three goals and led his team with seven assists. [3]. Jatta was an All-RMAC Second Team[4] ...

In 2018, Jatta joined Nevada Coyotes. Jatta was named UPSL National Player of the Week [5] and in the Team of the season [6]. Jatta led the Coyotes to the Western Conference Final which brought their undefeated season to an end. He scored 17 goals and recorded 7 assists in 22 games. In the 2019 Open Cup Qualifiers, Jatta's Coyotes fell to a 5-4 loss in Portland. Jatta had two goals and two assists [7]. Jatta also played for the San Francisco Glens in both Copa NorCal and their SFSFL second team. [8]

In 2019, Jatta joined JASA RWC briefly scoring 5 goals-in-7 games [9] before joining Corpus Christi FC in the USL League Two. Jatta scored 7 goals and 2 assists in 14 games. [10]

Professional career[edit]

Jatta joined Oakland Roots in August 2019. Jatta made his debut for the Roots against Club Atlético Zacatepec on Oct. 13, 2019. He then started vs. LA Force and recorded an assist vs. Miami FC in the Roots final game of the season.
