Salt Lake Film Review[edit]

Salt Lake Film Review (SLFR) is a Salt Lake City based website focusing on film and television criticism. Founded in late 2017, the publication has produced hundreds of articles discussing the merits of films as they are released on theaters and on streaming services, such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

SLFR was founded by Patrick Holman, who writes and edits for the website. Contributors also lend their voices to SLFR on a regular basis.

Patrick Holman[edit]

Patrick Holman is the founder and managing editor of Salt Lake Film Review. He created SLFR in order to create a place for discussion and to explore the qualities of movies. When he isn’t watching a movie, or writing about them, Patrick works as an out-of-school time professional in Salt Lake County, Utah.[1]

Patrick's contribution to SLFR includes, "Toy Story 4 Tells The Story We Didn’t Know We Needed,"[2] "Honeyland Does Not Feel Like A Documentary, Which Is Great,"[3] and, "Lean On Pete, Is A Touching Story of Extraordinary Circumstances"[4]

Andrew Hackman[edit]

Andrew Hackman is an elementary school teacher and has been teaching for twenty-eight years. He’s also been a movie watcher since before he could walk. Andrew joined Salt Lake Film Review in February 2018 as a contributing writer.[5]

Joshua Ziggy Popkin[edit]

Joshua Ziggy Popkin is an Electronic Media and Film student at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a big film and sports fan, his favorite team being the Washington Wizards. Joshua joined Salt Lake Film Review in February 2018 as a contributing writer.[6]

Matt Bullions[edit]

Matt Bullions is an avid film lover living in Pittsburgh, PA. He holds a degree in Journalism and Communications, and currently works in the media field. He also writes reviews for books and theatre. Matt joined Salt Lake Film Review in March 2018 as a contributing writer.[7]

Ryan D. Curtis[edit]

Ryan Curtis is a devoted film buff living in Salt Lake City, Utah. Active in political and civic circles, Ryan has written for several publications, including the Deseret News. Ryan joined Salt Lake Film Review in July 2018 as a contributing writer.
