Mary Eden (climber)

Mary Eden is an American professional rock climber. Mary Eden is known for her crack climbing ascents and climbing photography. Mary was the first woman to climb roof cracks Necronomicon 5.14a and Black Mamba 5.14b. She is also the first person to climb the infamous upside down Belly Full of Bad Berries right side up. She is known for her climbing partnerships with women in the film series “Girls Gone Wide”. She produces climbing media content and teaches crack climbing clinics.

Climbing Career

In 2022, eden made the first female ascent of Necronomicon (5.14a). In 2023, Eden made the first female ascent of Black Mamba (5.14b) one of the world’s hardest roof crack climbs. Eden is known as one of the worlds best offwidth climbers with free ascents of The Price of Evil, BellyFull of Bad Berries, Mechanical Bull, Earle Struggs.
