Sam Delaney
Sam Delaney is a British journalist, broadcaster, writer and podcaster. He hosted current affairs television programme Sam Delaney's News Thing from 2015 to 2018.[1][2]
Delaney was editor-in-chief for Heat Magazine from September 2009–2010.[3][4] He is the former editor-in-chief digital for Comedy Central UK.[5]
Delaney has written and presented television documentaries for Channel 4, Channel 5 and BBC Three.[6] In radio, Delaney has presented on Talksport[7], notably hosting The Warm Up with Andy Dawson,[8] and BBC FiveLive, and featured as a pundit on Sky News.[9] Until 2018 he featured as drivetime host on Talk Radio.[10]
Delaney writes for The Guardian[11], notably including an interview with British television broadcaster Noel Edmonds in 2019.[12] Delaney writes for the Daily Telegraph[13] and The Big Issue among other publications.[14]
Delaney's first book, Get Smashed: The Story of the Men Who Made the Adverts that Changed Our Lives, was published in 2007.[15] Night of the Living Dad: Confessions of a Shabby Father, his second book, was published in 2009.[16] Delaney's third book Mad Men & Bad Men: What Happened When British Politics Met Advertising was published in 2015.[17][18] His latest book Sort Your Head Out was published in 2023.[19]
Delaney co-hosts the podcast Top Flight Time Machine with Andy Dawson, which has spawned several live shows.[20] Delaney also hosts mental health podcast The Reset.[21][22]
Sam Delaney lives in London with his wife and two children.
