Sameer's ongoing research employs an economic perspective to investigate the development and administration of service systems that are technology, knowledge, and information-intensive.

He achieved his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Operations Management and Master of Science (MS) in Management Science Methods from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester, while also completing his Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
