Samuel Bai (born 27 October 1975) is a Papua New Guinean sprinter. He won medals at the Pacific Games and competed in the men's 4 × 400 metres relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics.[1]

Career

Bai won a silver medal in the 4 × 400 m at the 1995 South Pacific Games. His team ran 3:16.63.[2]

He was seeded in the 3rd 4 × 400 m heat at the 1996 Olympics.[3] Leading off for the Papua New Guinean team, they placed 7th in 3:19.92.[4] Following the Olympics, Bai competed at the 1996 PNG Athletics Grand Prix.[5] He set his 400 m personal best of 47.8 seconds that year.[6]

In May 1997, Bai finished runner-up in the 400 m at a Port Moresby athletics weekly meeting. He ran 49.5 seconds to finish behind Subul Babo.[7] He also finished 3rd at the Papua New Guinean Athletics Championships over 400 m.[4] In August at the 1997 Pacific Mini Games, Bai won an individual bronze medal in the 400 m and a silver in the 4 × 400 m relay.[2]
