Sam Delich is an Australian actor of Croatian and Dutch heritage. He has appeared in the feature films Spiderhead and The Marshes[1], and television series Mr Inbetween[2] and Home and Away.
Education[edit]
Delich attended the Western Australian Academy Of Performing Arts (WAAPA)[3] in Perth, Western Australia, graduating in 2013.
Career[edit]
Following his graduation, Delich returned to Sydney and began his career on Sydney stages, in roles such as Laertes in Shakespeare's Hamlet[4] for Barking Gecko Theatre Company, and Ricko in the acclaimed Australian revival of the Nick Enright classic Blackrock[5], directed by Kim Hardwick and presented by White Box Theatre Company.
Over this period Delich also appeared in a number of short films including Profile (2013) directed by Gordon Anderson, All That Matters (2014) directed by Daisy Benson, Post Break Up (2014) directed by Ryan Svirac, Back To Earth (2014) directed by Thomas Wilson-White, Meat (2015) directed by Sunday Emerson Gullifer and I Said Nothing (2017) directed by Kaleb McKenna.
In 2017, Delich was nominated for the prestigious Heath Ledger Scholarship[6] alongside Daniel Monks and Hunter Page-Lochard.
In 2018, Delich appeared in the acclaimed series Mr Inbetween from writer Scott Ryan and director Nash Edgerton for FX alongside Damon Herriman, Brooke Satchwell, Scott Ryan and Firass Dirani.
Delich also appeared in the 2018 feature film, The Marshes, from writer/director Roger Scott as Will, one of three young biologists conducting research deep in a remote marshland when they encounter evil as science ends and survival begins.
In 2019, Delich appeared in an episode of Australian television institution Home & Away for the Seven Network as Mark alongside Georgie Parker and Ada Nicodemou.
Delich also appeared in the Seven Network's 2019 reboot of RFDS (Royal Flying Doctor Service)[7] as Kit, alongside Justine Clarke, Rob Collins and Jack Scott.
Delich most recently appeared in the feature film Spiderhead alongside Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller[8], which debuted at the number one spot on Netflix's Top 10 List in June 2022. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, Spiderhead is based on George Saunders short story about a brilliant visionary running a correctional facility that allows its inmates to shorten their sentences by participating in drug trials for mind-altering substances.
In June 2022, Delich was announced in the cast of Last Days of the Space Age for Disney+[9]. One of several high-profile series unveiled as part of Disney+’s debut Australia and New Zealand slate, Last Days of the Space Age is to be directed by Bharat Nalluri and was created and written by David Chidlow.
