Samuel Ebeid (born October 1, 1982) is an Egyptian author. He has written articles in Arabic in several Egyptians newspapers and websites. In 2010, he translated into Arabic the National Intelligence Council Report titled “Global Trends 2025: A Transformed World.” He has written a fantasy novel The Heiress of Egypt to be released in 2019.
Early life and education[edit]
Ebeid was born on October 1, 1982, in Sohag, Egypt.[citation needed]
At age of 16, he moved to Cairo, where he studied Political Sciences, in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Helwan University; and served in the Egyptian Armed Forces.
Career[edit]
In 2007, Samuel began his career as the Head of Specific Forum Programs for the Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services. He worked on creating safe and suitable environments that encourage forum participants to dialogue on common issues and organized activities that aim to build potential leaders’ capacities in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.[citation needed]
In 2012, he was chosen as an international fellow in the Community Solutions Program, IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board)[1], and became an International Exchange Scholar Alumni of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. As a fellow at Oneblue in Washington, DC, Ebeid worked on conflict resolution through the Social Media Diplomacy Project focusing on training youth how dialogue, mediation, and negotiation concepts influence conflict management and transformation. Following the Community Solutions Program, he worked to implement an e-learning dialogue program targeting youth leaders and aimed to promote the culture of dialogue in his community.
In 2014, Samuel moved to Maryland, where he manages a small hotel in Western Maryland.
