Sanda, Bihar

Sanda is a small village on state highway 69, in Gaya district, Bihar. This village has a cultural and historical heritage of the Gupta empire which was demolished by Bhaktiyar khilaji. Sri Someshwar Nath Mandir is a monumental proof of its rich and diversified heritage of ancient India. This village has played an important role in caste wars during the late 90s in the Magadh region. Nawal Mukhiya of Sanda village was a prominent leader of the upper caste, who was killed by MCC on 22nd February 1998 during a horse race in his native village.

This village has also played an important and crucial role in the Indian independence movement led by Swami Shajanand Saraswati in the Bhartiya Kisan Sabha. One more prominent leader of this village was Acharya Brahmachari ji who belonged to the Azad Hind Fauj and fought against the British army in Myanmar during the Second World War.
