Sandeep Singh[edit]
Sandeep Singh is an Indian Politician and member of the Indian National Congress (INC)[1]. He is currently a Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) member from Uttar Pradesh . He pursued his education from JNU and was elected President of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) in 2007 Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union, also serving as a member of All India Students Association (AISA).
Early Life and Education[edit]
Born in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Sandeep Singh graduated from Allahabad University and went on to JNU as a student of philosophy. He was involved in CPI (M-L) Student’s wing, All India Students Association (AISA)[2].Then, in 2007, he was elected President of JNUSU.
Career[edit]
Sandeep Singh began his political career with Student’s wings of CPI (M-L)[3] and then INC, briefly working with Anna Hazare’s Movement[4]. He then moved on to Indian National Congress, first as a script and speech writer and then as a strategist. He travelled with Rahul Gandhi, acting as political advisor since 2017, before taking the up the post as political aide to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Controversies[edit]
In February 2023, an FIR was filed against Sandeep Singh by Big Boss star Archana Gautam’s father for alleged misbehaviour with Archana Gautam at the Congress Adhiveshan in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. According to the actress and her family, Singh did not allow Archana Gautam onto the podium to meet Priyanka Gandhi and she was then forced to leave the venue.
In 2005, he led protests in JNU, waving black flags at the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.[1][1]
