Sandy Grigsby

Sandy Grigsby is a public speaker and personal branding image specialist, empowerment photographer,[1] certified high-performance coach,[2] and founder of Briofive LLC, a photography studio located in Los Angeles, California.[3] Grigsby was born in Switzerland to a Black, Native American father and Swiss mother. She was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area[4] and graduated from American Intercontinental University, magna cum laude, with a BFA in visual communications.[5] She is also the author of I Am Who I Am, an illustrated children's book.[6]
Career
Grigsby worked as a commercial print model in 1998, modeling for companies such as Tempur-Pedic, Apple, United Airlines, Sony, and T-Mobile.[7] Aside from modeling, she also worked as a freelance web designer, and animal[8] and product photography.[4]
In June 2005,[5] Grigsby founded Briofive, a graphic and web design company, which by 2014, developed into a personal branding photography studio.[3] Her photography style exclusively focuses on showing industry leaders and entrepreneurs[9] as confident experts in their fields.[10] Through her work, Grigsby aims to help women find their self-worth and confidence;[11] [12] her style of photography emerged —the Empowerment Portrait.[13] Grigsby's work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times,[14] the Cape Cod Times,[15] and Racked San Francisco.[16]
Grigsby began working as a freelance photographer in 2001 and worked with organizations across the United States including Cheryl Saban's Self-Worth Foundation[17] and San Francisco Fleet Week.[5] In 2008,[5] she started Dogchatter Inc.,[18] an online retail store and magazine featuring photography of her household pets[19] which closed in 2017.[5]
Grigsby has spoken at two TEDx conferences: TEDxJHUDC (Johns Hopkins Undergraduate Debate Council)[20] presenting her talk, Photographs of the Invisible,[21] and TEDxReno with Make Your Image Tell the Truth About You.[22] She has also spoken at Dress for Success,[23] UN Women,[24] and the Winning Edge World Conference.[25][26] Additionally, Grigsby has spoken as a personal branding image expert on podcasts such as MindValley[27] and Kwikbrain.[28]
Grigsby runs a podcast, Life in Focus with Sandy Grigsby, covering topics including self-worth and entrepreneurship. It has featured Dr. Bill Dorfman, Jim Kwik, Lisa Scaffidi, and Ken Rutkowski.[29] In October 2022, she became an official instructor with LinkedIn Learning, formerly Lynda.com.[30] In July 2023 she started working with Prince Stash to establish his Tik Tok account as a "graninfluencer" (older people who embrace social media to share their history and wisdom).
