In early 1990s he initiated peripheral laser angioplasty and angioscopy. He has also done extensive work in coronary angioplasty, Vascular, Valvular interventions, endovascular bypass grafting. He has one of the largest world experiences of angioplasty in Takayasu’s Arteritis. His results established it as the initial mode of relieving symptomatic stenosis causing ischemia in Takayasu’s arteritis which until then was treated by bypass surgery. His research work on non-surgical treatment of Takayasu’s arteritis, like Coarctation of Aorta & kidney artery angioplasty in children has been published in most prestigious international, peer-reviewed medical Journals Circulation [12], 1987, American Heart Journal 1992, 1993[13] [14] [15], Journal of American Society of Pediatrics [16] and several other major peer reviewed, indexed journals with high impact factor.
