Sanjeev Kaul born 8th Aug 1973 is a filmmaker, screenwriter and theatre director. His debut film ‘MAN NAKED’, which is recently completed, is a original single-shot film from India, presented by Anurag Kashyap. The film is also an official selection at the Cannes International Independent Film section and a finalist in the Best Film category at The Next International Film Festival, where he won the best director award. Presently, the film is in consideration at Sundance, Palm Springs, Ann Arbor, Santa Barbara, Black Nights and Aspen Film Festival 2020.

Career[edit]

He made his debut as a story screenplay and dialogue writer with the hit duo Abbas-Mustan’s film Machine   Today, he is known for his directorial contribution to television, with more than 2,000 episodes, as well as several brand and corporate films.   He has directed episodes of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasamh Se, Kasturi, the award-winning soaps produced by Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms that aired on Star Plus and Zee TV   Hum Saath Aath Hain, Gharwali Uparwali, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani are also some of the popular sitcoms that he has directed, which have aired on Sony TV and Star Plus.   He is also the founder of Kongwattan, a Kashmiri theater group, which travels extensively, with the goal of supporting Kashmiri language and Indian arts. He participated in a play ‘Kabira khada bazaar main’ by MK Raina - It was a collaboration between the National School of Drama, Sangeet Natak Academy and Natrang.
