Sanjeev Kumar Jindal

Sanjeev Kumar Jindal is an Indian career civil servant who currently serves as Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission[1], which is equivalent to the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.

He previously served as Additional secretary to the Government of India[2] and Joint secretary to the Government of India[3][4], both in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He is a 1989 batch Central Secretariat Service officer.

Early life and education

Sanjeev earned Bachelor of Commerce from Punjabi University, Patiala and then earned Master of Arts in International Development Policy from Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University in the United States. He later earned Master of Business Administration in Finance from Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Career

Civil Service

Sanjeev joined the Central Secretariat Service in 1989 after qualifying through the Civil Services Examination. He has served as Deputy Financial Advisor at Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and later as Director in the Department of Financial Services at Ministry of Finance. He also served as Additional Director General and also as Deputy Director of Administration[5] at Prasar Bharati.

He then served as Additional secretary to the Government of India for Police Modernization and Disaster Management in the Ministry of Home Affairs.[6]
