Sara Catherine Bellamy is an actress whose film roles include Margaret Larkin in Cold Moon (2016), Cody Fields in Baby Girl (2018), and Beckett in The Party (2023).[1][2][3] She won Best Actress (Feature) at the 2023 Pasadena International Film Festival for her performance in The Party.[4]
Career
Bellamy's early screen work included the role of Margaret Larkin in the supernatural horror film Cold Moon. In a 2017 interview, she described the role as the beginning of her screen career, while The Movie Sleuth described the role as her "big break".[1] She later appeared as Drew in the horror comedy You Might Be the Killer and starred as Cody Fields in the independent thriller Baby Girl, both released in 2018.[5][2] Her performance in Baby Girl received several festival nominations, including Best Actress and Best Breakout Performance at the 2019 FirstGlance Film Festival, as well as a Best Actress nomination at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema.[6]
Bellamy later played Beckett in Kevin Van Stevenson's ensemble drama The Party. The film was initially shown under the title Butterflies...; a 2021 review by Film Threat identified Beckett as its lead character.[7] A later Film Threat review again listed Bellamy among the film's principal cast and gave substantial attention to Beckett's storyline.[8] Bellamy won Best Actress (Feature) for the role at the 2023 Pasadena International Film Festival.[4] The film subsequently continued on the festival and distribution circuit under the title The Party.[9]
In 2024, Bellamy appeared as Mimi in Stevenson's A Girl Upstairs, her third film with the director.[10] The film was presented at Dances With Films in Los Angeles, where Bellamy was listed among its three principal cast members.[11] In the film, Mimi is a figure brought to life from a painting who challenges the isolation imposed by her creator.[12]
