Sarah Kirby-Yung is a Canadian politician who was elected to Vancouver City Council in the 2018 municipal election. She is a member of ABC Vancouver.
Prior to her election to city council, Kirby-Yung served as a Vancouver park board commissioner as a member of the conservative Non-Partisan Association (NPA) from 2014 to 2018. In 2021, she resigned from the NPA with two other councillors amid a dispute over the party's mayoral nomination process.[1] Kirby-Yung had been rumoured to be considering a mayoral candidacy, and she polled at 7% in that year.[2] Ultimately, she ran for re-election to city council as a candidate of Ken Sim's ABC Vancouver and received the most votes of any council candidate.
Kirby-Yung's professional background is in marketing and communications, having worked as a marketing executive at Coast Hotels, Tourism Vancouver, and the Vancouver Aquarium.[3] She is married to Vancouver Police Department officer Terry Yung, who previously served on the board of the NPA and is the current board chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.[4][5]
