Sarah Parmenter (Born 9th September 1983) is an English entrepreneur, speaker, podcaster and designer. She is the founder of You Know Who[1] and Blushbar[2]. Sarah was also the recipient of .net magazine's international award for 'Designer of The Year' in 2011[3].

Early Life[edit]

Sarah was born to Nigel (b.1952) and Jane Parmenter (1956-2012) on the 9th September 1983 in Rochford, Essex. Sarah has no siblings. Sarah was raised in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex and attended St.Hildas School from 1986-2000. Sarah talks freely about how she did not go on to higher education and instead taught herself how to code from 13 years old[4]. It is known Sarah was married on 10th September 2010. Her current status is believed to be divorced.

Career[edit]

Parmenter's career started in web design, where she talks about coding and branding for small businesses. Sarah's career changed at the inception of the iPhone and began specialising in design for iOS devices. She received excellent feedback from Eric Hope, the former User Experience Evangelist at Apple and went on to work on internal designs and projects at Apple as a freelance designer. Sarah also designed much of the native reading interface for the Blackberry Playbook. Sarah has also worked for Ellen Degeneres, The Breast Cancer Society of America, Vogue, News International, STV and Mozilla. Sarah was also the co-founder of Simplecast [Sold to Sirius XM[5]]. Sarah became the Head of Design at Fahlo (renamed BKSTG[6]) a startup by Scooter Braun in Los Angeles, California. Sarah is also an Adobe Insider for Adobe XD. Sarah is also a regular tech speaker at An Event Apart[7] in the USA.

Sarah was also the co-host of Happy Monday with Josh Long, a popular short-burst Monday morning podcast episode for the tech industry.
