Sarat Sethi is an Indian-born American portfolio manager, equity analyst and commentator on CNBC. He is Managing Partner of New York City-based Douglas C. Lane & Associates, an investment advisory firm.
Sethi is a contributor on CNBC shows Squawk Box, Power Lunch and Fast Money Halftime Report.
Personal life[edit]
Sethi grew up in India and moved to the U.S. when he was 12 years old. He attended Lehigh University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business and Economics in 1992. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Career[edit]
In 1992, Sethi began his career at Coopers & Lybrand as a certified public accountant. In 1997, he joined JP Morgan in the mergers and acquisition/corporate finance area and was involved in domestic and cross-border transactions.
Sethi joined Douglas C. Lane & Associates in 1999. In 2017, he was recognized at No. 50 on the Barron's top 100 independent wealth advisors list.[1]
Sethi is a member of Lehigh University's[2] Executive Board of Trustees, President of the Martindale Society, past Chair of the University's Endowment Investment Committee and current Chair of the Committee on Nominations and Trusteeship. He was a guest speaker at Lehigh University's Wall Street Council reception in Manhattan.[3]
He also is a board member of Children's Hope India, a New York-based non-profit that supports children's programs in India and the United States, and a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).
In 2021, he was named to the Financial Advisor IQ Leadership Council.[4]
