Sarv WAVE is a video conferencing software that was developed by Sarv Web Pvt Ltd and runs on low internet bandwidth. The software was first introduced in the Innovation Challenge for Video Conferencing by MeitY, Government of India. The software participated as an alternative to Zoom Video Conferencing for India.
Origin
In February 2020, the world faced a pandemic situation due to a deadly virus called COVID-19. Due to the pandemic, the whole world went into lockdown. This affected many businesses. In this situation, video conferencing software started to grow as a most efficient solution. One of those software was Zoom, but it faced data leak and breach issues as soon as it rose.
Due to security reasons, Government of India and its IT department, MeitY[1] decided to bring a video conferencing challenge that would give India a made-in-India video conferencing solution. Sarv Web participated in the challenge with Sarv WAVE.[2]
Features
WAVE is compatible with all major platforms and has a simple user interface, especially for non-technical users. From one-on-one to group meetings can be held on the application. Other features include screen sharing without a whiteboard, HD and collaborative whiteboard with infinite zoom, live streaming, video embedding, cloud storage, chat system, and file sharing. The app can run on low internet bandwidth without compromising the quality of the conference.
Platforms
Sarv WAVE is available on all desktop operating systems, Windows, iOS and Linux, and mobile devices, Android, iOS. WAVE is also available on the digital distribution platform Google Play Store.
