Early life and education
Saskia Kanne was born on January 11, 1988.[1] After finishing her early education, she focused her studies on communication and modern media. In 2014, she attended the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule RheinMain) in Wiesbaden, Germany. During her time in college, she worked on research projects led by Professor Dr. Dr. Alexander Moutchnik. Her main area of study was "Media Convergence," which looks at how different forms of media—like print, television, and the internet—blend together in today's digital world.[2] This education gave her the technical and communication skills she would later use to build her own online business.
Career and "Katzenmuddi"
Kanne's career took a major turn in 2020. That year, she decided to adopt two rescue cats from an animal shelter in Bulgaria. The cats were named Mish and Tutt. Because Mish is completely deaf, Kanne had to learn a lot about the special care needed for pets with disabilities.[3] Inspired by the deep bond she formed with her new pets, she decided to start a brand called Katzenmuddi, which translates roughly to "Cat Mom" in German. She formed a business partnership called KE Business GbR with Sebastian Eisenhauer. Together, they launched a shop known as KatzenmuddiDesigns. Through her website and a storefront on Etsy, Kanne designs and sells unique gifts for cat lovers. Some of her most popular items include daily planners, greeting cards, funny coffee mugs, magnets, and art prints. Kanne handles the creative side of the business herself and affectionately calls her deaf cat, Mish, the "Feelgood-Manager" of the team.[4]

In addition to designing products, Kanne is a dedicated author and blogger. She writes the majority of the articles published on the Katzenmuddi website. Her blog serves as a helpful resource for other pet owners looking for advice. She writes clear, high-school-level guides on how to take care of cats, how to understand their body language, and what household plants are safe for them. For example, she has written detailed articles explaining the effects of safe plants like cat thyme (Katzengamander) on a cat's mood. Kanne is very active on the internet and has built a friendly online community of cat lovers.
