She became a viral sensation in 2021 when a segment of her live broadcast was posted, showing her impetuous reaction to an earthquake alert while shifting from a relaxed tone to urgent[1]. The video gained attention through the Internet and spread quickly. As more people started watching her weather broadcast, a fandom was created dedicated to posting Saya Hiyama's content.

Early life[edit]
Saya Hiyama was born and brought up in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. She attended school at her local mission school before enrolling her university education at Rikkyo University's Faculty of Economics. After receiving her Finance diploma, she worked as an accountant while doing trials for voice training as it was her childhood dream. Although she was met with failures, there were suggestions to follow a different career path, narration work. Eventually, Saya started her further study about weather forecasting and ultimately joined WNL.
